Demon Wrestling
The Demon wrestlers were at Montezuma last night for what was scheduled to be a triangular with Montezuma and Sigourney-Keota, but BGM also showed up so they got three duals in. The Demons beat BGM 46-30 and Montezuma 54-27 and lost to Sigourney-Keota 49-21. Demon Head Coach Brent Van Weelden says some of the wrestlers that did well include Parker Turner at 130, he went 3-0 on the night. He says quaite a few wrestlers were wrestling up last night so they wouldn’t have open weights. Clint Stout was at 145 and he went 2-1, Chris Graf was at 160 and he went 2-1, Tyler Jaspering was 3-0, and at 285 Tyler McDonald was 2-1, he lost to McLaughlin from Sigourney-Keota 4-1. Van Weelden says this closes out their dual seasons and it was big to get the two wins, because that means the Demons end their dual season with a winning record at 9-8, which was a goal of theirs. The Demons wrestle at Sectionals on Saturday at Mediapolis where they will face Columbus, Fairfield, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, and West Burlington.
