The Washington Chamber of Commerce is recognizing local artists with a new program. Chamber Executive Director Tim Coffey says the Artists of the Month will be selected through a nomination process. The one selected for September is Kathleen Almelien. Her painting “Main Street Pride” was made with a stick pigment called pastel. Almelien’s work is on display at the chamber building. The public is invited to view a new work each month.
