The Washington Demon football team is on the road tonight to face the Keokuk Chiefs. The Chiefs are 0-2 in the district while Washington is 1-1. Demon Head Coach Jason Ganoe says the Chiefs are a team that like a couple of seasons ago has a Vandenberg at quarterback in Elliot Vandenberg. Vandenberg is their leading rusher with 366 yards and has thrown for 129 yards this season. His older brother James was the quarterback of their 07 state championship team and plays at Iowa. For the Demons they look to bounce back from a disappointing 63-0 loss to Williamsburg. Coach Ganoe says they stepped it up in practice and pushed the kids a little harder. He says it wasn’t a punishment but it was a way of trying to get back on track.
