Washington School Board members have approved a $16.5 million sales tax bond proposal. The lone dissenter at last night’s meeting was district four’s Richard Bordwell. He feels voters sent a clear message when the property tax bond measure failed earlier this month. Bordwell also says the district will end up paying too much in interest with this plan. Proponents of the measure say they could lose the sales tax money to state budget cuts, and that more than half of voters did approve issuing the property tax bonds.
