Washington and Henry Counties’ Empowerment Boards are moving forward with a merger. Tasha Beghtol is the coordinator for the two counties. She says they recently received state approval for the consolidation. Beghtol says the new board will need to define their coverage area, come up with bylaws, and create a strategic plan. She says they hope to have the merger complete by the beginning of the next fiscal year.
