The Washington School District Facilities Committee is expected to recommend that the board sell 16.5 million dollars in sales tax bonds. Shane Ehresman is principal at the high school and serves as one of the facilitators of the committee. He says the district needs to act fast, or could lose out on sales tax money. Ehresman says that’s because the state could bring that money back into the general budget, although nothing has been decided at this point. The funds would be used to build a new high school and address critical maintenance needs at other district buildings.
