A proposed zoning ordinance for Washington County has been a divisive subject. One of the biggest concerns expressed at a recent meeting is the section that would require people wishing to build a home in areas zoned for agriculture to purchase at least 35 acres. Whether the ordinance is implemented is now the hands of the board of supervisors. Each one of them has told KCII they have not made any decisions on the matter, and plan to go through a series of public hearings and careful considerations before doing so.
