The Class 2A volleyball postseason kicked off last night. The
Sigourney moves on, while Mid-Prairie goes the distance with West Branch. Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks were at West Branch battling the Bear and the Golden Hawks won the first game 25-23 and were up 22-21 in the second but West Branch rallied for the win 25-23. The Bears also took the third game 25-22. The Golden Hawks would respond in the fourth winning 25-16. In the fifth it was the Bears winning 15-7 to advance to the regional quarterfinal. For Mid-Prairie Kelsey Fuhr led the Golden Hawks with 23 kills, Kendra Kramer had 12.
The Sigourney Savages advanced out of the opening round beating Pekin in three 25-21, 25-18, 25-20. The Savages play Davis County who beat Cardinal in five.
