Agriculture experts are anticipating a difficult drying season for the state’s corn crop this year. ISU Extension Regional Director Gene Mohling says the unusually cool summer has led to a late maturing crop. He says much of the state’s corn just matured earlier this month, but he says the optimal time for maturing is in September. Mohling says much of Iowa’s corn will be harvested in the low 20 percent moisture range.
