IMS boys cross country team is headed to state. At their district meet in Wapello, IMS took first with 44 team points. Bill Spencer won the race with a time of 16-46. Teammate Truman Shetler finished seventh. Keota’s Kalen Greiner and Cody Uphold both qualified as individuals, as did Winfield-Mount Union’s Glen Morgan.. On the girls side in 1A, Lone Tree’s Ella Feldman was third to qualify also going from Lone Tree Alena Loan. WACO’s Madison Roth and IMS Madaline Miller finished in the top ten to move on to state.

In 2A, on the boys side Mid-Prairie, Iowa City Regina, and Columbus qualified as teams to run at state. Columbus Sam Chaney won his district, teammate Jake Keller finished fifth. In 2A, Pekin girls took first at the Columbus site, Mid-Prairie girls just missed qualifying finishing fourth. The Golden Hawks’ Sophia Chmaruk finished second to qualify as an individual.

In 3A, Washington boys and girls ran against a very strong field including Xavier, Assumption, Marion, Mount Vernon, and Central Clinton Dewitt to name a few. The Demons finished 12th of 12 on the boys side and 11th of 11 on the girls side. Maquoketa’s girls time didn’t run at the Anamosa site.
