The Washington Demon football team has a big district game Friday as they host rival Fairfield. Heading into this week the 3A District 5 standings have Williamsburg sitting at the top at 5-0, Clear Creek Amana is second at 4-1, their district loss came to Mount Pleasant, and then there is a three way tie between Mount Pleasant, Washington and Fairfield at 3-2. Clear Creek Amana will play Williamsburg in the last week of the regular season. For the Demons Head Coach Jason Ganoe says they will see a Fairfield team with a lot of size, he says on tape they are the only team they’ve seen that could come close to matching Williamsburg’s size. The Demons hosting Fairfield on Friday, the Trojans are coming off a 55-27 win over Oskaloosa. The Demon JV team will be in action tonight, the varsity played Clear Creek Amana on Friday, and typically the JV play the same team on the following Monday, but because of a lack of numbers Clear Creek Amana wasn’t going to be able to play, so the Demons will host West Burlington/Notre Dame’s JV team. Kick off will be at 5:30.
