The Washington Demon volleyball team played strong most of the way last night hosting Keokuk, but in the end the Chiefs got the win. The Demons won the first game, Keokuk took the second. Washington won the third, but the Chiefs forced a fifth game winning the fourth, and then won the fifth and deciding game to take the match. The Chiefs had beat the Demons in their first meeting in three, but Demon Head Coach Jeff Spenner felt his team played much better in their meeting last night and really hustled hard during the match. For Washington:
Jonte Thronton 12 kills 9-9 serving 9 digs
Lucy Libe 5 kills 19-20 serving 3 aces 36 digs
Caitlin Fishback 7 aces 14 digs
Kathleen Kennedy 33 assists
Molly Donnolly 24 digs
The Demons next host Mount Pleasant on Monday then close out the season on the road at Fort Madison on Tuesday.
