The Washington Demons are headed to the football post season after winning in Fort Madison and getting some help from Fairfield. The Demons had the ball three times in the first half and scored on two of those drives, the third was late in the second quarter so Washington went in up 14-7 at halftime. The Demons almost lost some of their momentum when on the opening kickoff of the second half a line drive kick hit one of the Demon blockers and was recovered by Fort Madison, but not long after the Demons forced Bloodhound quarterback Eric Kent to fumble and took over at the Fort Madison 30 yard line and would score to go up 21-7. To Fort Madison’s credit they put together a lengthy drive to answer and make it 21-13. One of the key plays in the game came midway through the fourth quarter the Demons driving around the Fort Madison 30 and on fourth and nine, Jake Redlinger hit Jordan Hoffman to get the 11 yards and the first down and the Demons would eventually punch it in to go up 28-13 and that would be the final. Meanwhile in Fairfield the Trojans beat Mount Pleasant 20-0 which means the Demons get into the postseason as the fourth team out of District 5. Washington will play Centerville on Wednesday at 7-pm.

Other District 5 Scores
