Attorney’s for Washington County this week are expected to file a petition asking asking for judgment against the city of Riverside. The petition is expected to ask a district judge to rule on the validity of a revenue sharing contract the two entities entered into when the casino was built. Riverside has said they did not intend to pay $175,000 annually to the county because they feel the contract creates constitutional debt, which would violate state law. The county maintains that the contract is legal and enforceable.
