The Sigourney Savages stayed unbeaten in conference beating Montezuma in three. The Savages won 25-16 25-14 25-16. The Savages went five games in their conference opener against English Valleys, but have not dropped a game in a conference match since. Savage Head Coach Kris Carter says things have been gelling and the girls have been playing well together. One thing she likes is they have been spreading their offense around it’s not just their two tall middle players. Leaders from last night:

Carolyn Holm 12 kills
Whittney Abrahamson 8 kills
Stephanie Atwood 7 kills 4 blocks 6 aces
Amanda Manchester 6 kills
Morgan Olin 30 assists
Olivia Hanchet 10 digs

The Savages are now 7-0 in the conference. As far as the pairings, last year the Savages had to go on the road to play Pella Christian in the opening round. Pella Christian went on to qualify for state, this year Carter likes the pairings a little better especially since it will be the first time since she’s been at Sigourney they have an opportunity to host.
