Two area football team prep for Monday

The football postseason resumes Monday night. The state association designates this as the opening round of the playoffs, the round last week is called sub-state and viewed as the game to get into the playoffs. Two area teams will be in action Monday. First in 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will head up to Solon to face the two time defending state champs and number one team in the state. The Golden Hawks met the Spartans in the quarterfinals last year on a snowy night in Solon and the Spartans won 52-27. You’ll be able to hear Monday’s game right here on the one to count on KCII we’ll be on the air at 6:45 with the pre-game and it’s a 7:00 kick off. The winner plays the winner of Regina and Davis County.

The other area team in action Monday will be in Class A as the WACO Warriors play BGM. The Warriors beat HLV 35-13 in the substate round while BGM beat Cardinal 41-6. The WACO-BGM game will be in Wayland.
