Millie McCreedy, age 62, of Ainsworth, Iowa died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at her residence after failing in health for the past seven months.

Celebration of life services will be held 3:30 pm Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Ainsworth Elementary School with Pastor Tim Rees, Rev. Kitch Shatzer and Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Visitation will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 Tuesday evening. Private family interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for renovation of the Ainsworth Community Church North Building for Kids’ Club activities or Hospice of Washington County. Millie was born June 16, 1947 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of George and Gladys (Gorsh) Stout. She graduated from Highland High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Millie was a homemaker and worked part time at the Ainsworth Post Office. She was employed by the Highland Community School District where she worked as the elementary secretary for 17 years.

She was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Leader, choir member, Kids’ Club organizer, Christmas Program coordinator and was active in the Ainsworth Community Church Women. She was also active in Emmaus Community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Millie is survived by her husband Stanley L. McCreedy of Ainsworth, Iowa; daughter Kimberly A. Rees and husband Tim and their children Aleah and Micah of North Liberty, Iowa; son Kevin A. McCreedy and wife Mindy and daughter McKenna of Iowa City, Iowa; and daughter Kara A. Miller and husband Jake and their daughter Annie of Sharonville, Ohio. She is also survived by her brother Edward I. Stout of Kansas City, MO; brother William E. Stout and wife Dorothy of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister Louise Frakes and husband Harold of Brighton, Iowa; sister-in-law Lois Stout of West Burlington, Iowa and sister-in-law Judy Stout of Columbus Junction, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Gladys Stout, two brothers David Stout and George Stout Jr. and one sister Virginia Stout.
