Crews from Alliant Energy will be in Wellman tomorrow (11/20) to trim trees in an effort to reduce the chances of a power outage. Alliant Line Clearance Manager Dan Green says they remove hazardous limbs as part of a proactive approach to safeguarding electrical reliability. Green says they plan ahead for weather conditions and consider how much the trimming will affect a tree’s overall health. Trees within ten feet of power lines will be trimmed. Small branches will be chipped and hauled away.
