Iowa’s 2010 Legislative Session will be a challenging one for lawmakers. Topping the list of issues they’ll need to tackle is the budget. Riverside Representative Larry Marek says they’ll likely fine tune the governor’s 10 percent across the board cut. Marek says even though things might seem bleak, Iowa is still faring much better than many other states. He says New Jersey’s budget deficit was larger than Iowa’s overall expenditure’s last fiscal year.
