The country’s fuel prices are trending downward, but in Iowa their on the rise. However, the Hawkeye State still remains below the national average. The Iowa Office of Energy Independence reports that both diesel and gasoline prices have risen by roughly 15 cents since last month, while heating fuels have increased by nearly 30 cents. A department spokeswoman says much of the increase is tied to higher demand due to the later than usual harvest.
