IMS boys take state cross country crown

The IMS boys cross country team won the state championship on Saturday. IMS had the individual winner as well with Bill Spencer taking first. Truman Shetler finished 6th, Seth Miller 41st , Ben Wyse 43rd and Drew Powell 45th. IMS boys finished runner up last season. Wapello’s Chase Moser finsihed 5th . Keota’s Kalen Greiner finished 20th.

In 2A, Mid-Prairie boys finished 8th as a team. Colton Schwartz was their best finisher and came in 51st. Columbus Jake Keller finished 11th.

On the girls side in 1A, Lone Tree’s Ella Feldman was the area’s best finisher in that class, she ended up 21st and teammate Alena Loan 24th out of 131. WACO’s Madison Roth was 53rd. In 2A, Pekin finished second as a team. Union Laporte City was first. Individually, Mid-Prairie’s Sophia Chmaruk finished 20th.
