Press play to hear from Sheriff Jerry Droz

Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating what might have been an attempted abduction. Sheriff Jerry Droz says two people in a pickup truck approached two teen girls in Libertyville as they were walking home from a bus stop this week. He says the vehicle was described as a black or dark blue full size truck with Van Buren County Plates. The driver was a man in his 50’s with a black and grey hair and a mustache. The passenger was a high school aged boy with dirty blonde hair. Droz says the driver asked the girls to pet a Golden Retriever of Labrador that was riding the truck’s bed. He says anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the Jefferson County Law Center at 319-641-4146.
