More cuts are in store for Iowa’s Judicial Branch. The state’s highest court has issued an order reducing the hours of all clerk of court offices. 23 of them will operate on a part time basis. The rest, including Washington County’s, will close at 2:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning December 15. The order comes in the wake of action by the court last week reducing the statewide workforce of the judicial branch by more than nine percent. The cuts are in response to the governor’s across the board budget reductions.
