Press the play buttons to hear from U of I Political Scientist David Redlawsk
A recent poll by the Des Moines register indicates Iowa Governor Chet Culver’s approval rating has fallen to a “critical new low.” Even so, a political scientist at the University of Iowa says people shouldn’t discount the first term Democrat. David Redlawsk says it’s a difficult time to be a state executive leader, because many voters are upset over the economy. Redlawsk says the last thing Culver would want to do is appear reactive. He says voters want to know that their elected officials are doing something to better the state’s situation.
