press play to hear from Washington County Sup. Chair Jim Miksch

Washington County Supervisors are moving forward with a plan to build a new facility for public health in Downtown Washington. Board Chair Jim Miksch says they’re looking at two ways of funding the project: through the general fund, or the debt service fund. Either way, the county will likely have to get voter approval to issue bonds. They also hope to fund more than half the project’s cost with grant money. Supervisors this week approved committing five thousand dollars to keep their option to purchase land in downtown Washington.
