Thomas A. Rabenold, age 72, of Ainsworth passed away Saturday November 21, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

It was Tom’s wishes to be cremated with no services. Interment will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth at later date. A general memorial has been established. Thomas was born July 20, 1937 in Dubuque, Iowa to Donald and Madge (Wills) Rabenold. He attended school in Ainsworth. Tom lived in the Ainsworth area all of his life. He went to work for his dad at the Feed Store in Ainsworth for many years, then did construction work until a truck accident disabled him. On March 6, 1959 Tom was united in marriage to Anita M. Fish at the Methodist Church in Coralville, Iowa. They lived in Washington until 1964, than moved to the Ainsworth area. Tom enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Tom enjoyed playing golf until his health failed. He was a member of the Cedarcrest Golf and Country Club for many years. Tom also enjoyed Square Dancing and was a member of the Shirts and Skirts in Ainsworth.

Tom is survived by his wife, Anita Rabenold of Ainsworth, Iowa; three sons, Donald Rabenold of Davenport, Iowa; David and wife Janet of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Danny of Washington, Iowa; one daughter, Donna Svatos and husband Raymond of Riverside, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J.D.; and his sisters, Donna Ripple and Freida McFarland.
