The WACO Warriors are headed to the football quarterfinals after beating BGM last night. WACO hosting BGM, got on the board first with a Spencer Shepherd 35 yard touchdown run with about 50-seconds left in the first quarter and Warriors led 6-0. BGM responded early in the second quarter with a 16 yard touchdown pass and BGM took the lead 7-6. The Warriors got another big run from Spencer Shepherd this one a 62 yarder for a touchdown and WACO was up 13-7 at the half. WACO’s Tad Morrow had a six yard touchdown run and with the two point conversion WACO led 21-7 in the third. BGM scored with six and a half left in the game to pull within a touchdown and the Bears had the ball one more time but WACO stopped them and ran out the clock. For the Warrirors Spencer Shepherd had 27-carrires for 225 yards. Tad Morrow had 17-carries 43 yards. Brady Stauffer was 3 for 4 for 45 yards. Jordan Vradenberg, Spencer Shepherd and Matt Mitchell each had recpetions. WACO will now play number one ranked and defending state champs North Tama. North Tama beat North Mahasaka 45-0. So the Warriors playing North Tama and the game was going to be at North Tama but it has been moved inside to the UNI-Dome so it’ll be Friday night with a 6:15 kickoff.
