Winter weather will be here soon, which can pose some hazards. Ryan Miller is a meteorologist with WeatherEye. He says while most people think of snow packed roads as the primary danger, blowing snow can actually be more dangerous, because of how much it can reduce visibility. Miller says extreme temperatures can also pose a threat. He says Iowa rarely has lows cold enough to be dangerous, but wind chill factors of 15 to 20 below zero can cause frost bite to exposed skin rather quickly.
