Washington High School Students have worked nearly 2,000 of volunteer work since June through the Silver Cord Commendation Program. Principle Shane Ehresman says besides helping the community, it can also be beneficial for the students because volunteerism can go a long way on a college application. Ehresman says any organizations in need of volunteers can contact him at the high school, and he can arrange to have students help out.
