Same sex marriage has been rated the top news story of the year by the Iowa Associated Press. Brandon Edgington is an attorney who practices in Wellman. He says the only way the Supreme Court decision making gay marriage legal can be overturned is through a constitutional amendment. Edgington says he’s unaware of any instance where Iowa lawmakers have made a constitutional amendment to change something the high court has declared unconstitutional. For that reason, he feels it will be unlikely that the same sex marriage decision will be overturned.
