The Washington Demon girls basketball team opened conference play hosting Fairfield, in a game that saw Cassey Sobaski join elite list of Demons. Heading into the game, Sobaski need six points to reach 1,000 career points and she got it early in the first quarter with a couple of threes. They stopped the game and recognized her accomplishment, as she becomes only the third Demon to score 1,000 career points with Mary Berdo and Stephanie Rich being the other two. In the game the Demons set the tone early leading 23-10 after one and would continue to add to their lead going in at halftime up 42-20. The Demons cruised in the second half to win 76-44. Sobaski had 20 points, Caitlin Fishback ended up with 16 and Lucy Libe had 13. Libe defensively held Trojan standout Meridith Flattery to 2 points. Demons are now 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. Fairfield drops to 1-4 and 0-2 in the conference.
