The fifteenth ranked Washington Demon girls basketball team went into the holiday break with a dominating performance against West Branch. The Demons led 14-5 after one quarter and West Branch didn’t score their fifth point until the very end of the first. The Demons cruised from their leading 30-10 at halftime and winning 60-28. There were times in the game the Demons hit a little scoring drought but in those times they didn’t give up any points to West Branch. Caitlin Fishback led Washington with 12 points, Regan Enfield and Macy Wright each had 8 points off the bench and Cassey Sobaski had 7 points. The Demons improve to 7-1 on the season and will come out of the break January 4th hosting Fort Madison.

The Demon boys led most of the way in their 61-56 win over West Branch Saturday night. Washington at times would have a double digit lead but most of the night West Branch stayed within striking distance but never could tie it or even take the lead. Down the stretch the Bears pulled within three but the Demons had some good free throw shooting from Alex Vogel and Issac Gardner to get the win 61-56. Vogel had 24 points and Gardner ended up with 20. Nic Williams added six points off the bench and was strong underneath. The Demons are now 5-0 on the season.
