press play to hear from Ehresman

This year’s report on the condition of Iowa’s education system indicates smaller school districts provide less opportunity for students to take advanced classes. Washington High School Principal Shane Ehresman says the district’s facilities committee is working on something to hopefully make that not the case. Ehresman says the regional school concept would make WHS a sort of hub for area students to come to in order to take more advanced courses. Ehresman is quick to point out that a regional school does not mean other districts would be forced to close down. He also says that Washington is already somewhat serving in a regional school capacity.
