A lot of what used to be thrown in the trash over the holidays can now be recycled and kept out of the landfill. Amy Hock with Metro Waste Authority says you can reuse most wrapping paper, bows and ribbons and what can’t be reused can be recycled. She says live Christmas trees with roots can be planted, and even burned out Christmas lights can be recycled. Hock says if you get a new TV, appliance, toys, games or clothing, consider giving the old ones to charity.
