press play to hear from Marek

A state representative from Riverside says Iowa’s agriculture based economy has helped it weather the national economic downturn. Marek says the related field of alternative energy will help the state in the future, specifically manufacturing of wind farm components. Marek says Kansas based Tradewind Energy hopes to begin designing a wind farm for Washington County early next year. He says if the project is realized in full, Washington County could have more than 330 wind turbines producing around 450 megawatts of electricity.
