Washington County Supervisors have approved several revisions to a proposed zoning ordinance. Board Chair Jim Miksch says the changes were made in response to concerns voiced by the public. Perhaps one of the most sweeping changes is to the minimum acreage requirement. It would have mandated that someone wanting to build a home in an area zoned for agriculture buy at least 35 acres of land. Supervisors reduced that to 10 acres. The next step for the board is to draw up a draft of the ordinance. After that it would undergo a series of public hearings and readings before being up for approval or dismissal by Supervisors.
