In November a Washington man was killed after a fracas outside the 4th Avenue Bar and Grill. 45 year old Robert Thomas Blankenship of Washington was pronounced dead at the University of Iowa Hospital. Police say eyewitness reports indicate Blankeship was found unconscious near an area were several people had been involved in an altercation outside the tavern. The incident, which is now being called a homicide, remains under investigation.
