A new report from the Iowa Department of Public Health indicates keeping children at a normal body index may be easier by simply limiting screen time. The state agency says the average child spends about eight hours a day either in front of a computer, TV or video game console. They recommend limiting that screen time to no more than two hours per day. They also urge Iowa children to take part in the Live Healthy Iowa 100 day Challenge. It’s a 100 day program that tracks physical activity, eating habits and screen time. Teams that average 42-hundred minutes of physical activity can earn a crash prize.
