The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks had a make up date with North Cedar for a boy-girl doubleheader. In the girls game the Golden Hawks had a big fourth quarter scoring more points in the fourth than they did in the first three. Mid-Prairie went into the fourth down, but in the last four minutes Mid-Prairie outscored North Cedar 14-4. Golden Hawk Head Coach Marc Pennington says they stepped up defensively and scored off of turnovers as well as hit their free throws. He says they also played with a lot of fight and enthusiasm as the Golden Hawks won 43-40. Erin Cayton led the way with 12 points and went 8-8 from the charity stripe. Taylor Hershberger had 11 points. The Golden Hawks now go on the road tonight to play Iowa City Regina. You’ll be able to hear the game on the one to count on KCII we’ll be on the air at around 7:20. This was going to be a boy-girl doubleheader but the boys game has been moved to a week from Saturday and will be part of Rivalry Saturday in the US Cellular Center.
