The Washington County Sheriff’s Office officially hired two new deputies this week. Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says he selected the two candidates because of their prior experiences working for city police departments. Dunbar says they also felt the two new officers are likely to be committed to the positions long term. The two will now spend four weeks with a training officer.
