press play to hear from Liz Miksch from the hospital’s PT Dept.

Washington County Hospital and Clinics’ Physical Therapy Department is launching a new program to treat those with severe Pulmonary disease. Rehab Services Director Liz Miksch says Pulmonary disorders affect one’s breathing, and therefore one’s quality of life. Miksch says one patient was having trouble doing simple tasks such as making a bed, but showed significant improvements after two weeks of treatment. Miksch says WCHC decided to launch the program because of its high demand and because traveling long distances for such treatment can be counterproductive. For more information contact the hospital’s physical therapy department at 319-863-3962.
