At the state wrestling tournament three area wrestlers were competing for state titles and one brought it home. At 140 Columbus’ Seth Noble won in a 5-2 decision. Noble beat East Marshall/GMG’s Blake Meling. At 112 Sigourney-Keota’s Kalen Greiner finished second losing to Gunnar Wolfensperger of Denver-Tripoli. At 130 Columbus’ Jake Keller lost to Creston’s Jake Martin. Finally at 125 Denver Tripoli’s Levi Wolfensperger, the kid that beat Washington’s Zach Walgren in the opening round, ended up finishing the season unbeaten and won the championship with a pin.
