The Washington Demon girls basketball team started the post season on the right foot beat rival Mount Pleasant in Demon Gym. The Demons’ Lucy Libe did a strong defensive job on the Panthers’ leading scorer Sophomore Taylor Shull. Shull averaged 19 points per game, she was held to just one point at halftime, and didn’t really start get going until later in the games when the Demons had a twenty point lead. Shull ended up with 13. For Washington it was a well rounded performance as the Demons led 28-17 at halftime but got out to a 25-point lead in the second half and would win 61-41. For Washington, Caitlin Fishback led with 12 points, Cassey Sobaski and Sydney Greiner had 11. The Demons are now 17-4 on the season and will now face Keokuk in Mount Pleasant on Saturday. Keokuk beat Fort Madison 51-31.

On the other side of the bracket, Williamsburg beat Fairfield 65-29 and Davenport Assumption beat Clear Creek Amana 74-43.
