The communities in Washington County, aside from the city of Washington, are expected to pay a little more than $3,700 more for law enforcement in the coming fiscal year. The sheriff’s office is contracted to provide the service. The amount paid by each town is based on the average calls of service over a five year period. The total amount collected by the county for law enforcement next year will be slightly more than $193,000.
