bb-meet-and-greet

Kids and adults can meet some well-known Disney characters for a fundraiser and sneak preview of Highland High School’s spring musical production.

The Highland Fine Arts Department is hosting a meet and greet for the community to get autographs and pictures with the characters from their production of “Beauty and the Beast” from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the high school. It is a free-will donation event, but there will also be fees for a package that includes autographs and another including a sword or tiara and an autograph book.

The musical will be presented at 7 p.m. March 26th and 27th. Director Jennifer McClenahan says this will be their largest production ever thanks to lobbying by students, “It was really the students that coaxed me into this and so we started thinking big and they were right. They were the ones that said we need to do this, we need something to look forward to and I said, ‘You’re right, let’s do this,’ and so that’s how it was chosen.”

McClenahan says next weekend will be the first fine arts performances before a live crowd for the high school since December of 2019. She says students have been rehearsing in masks and those attending the shows will be required to wear masks. Social distancing measures will also be taken and tickets will only be available at the door.
