Two opera productions are coming to Washington this month. The Des Moines Metro Opera is putting on the shows in partnership with the Washington Community Theatre. The Metro Opera’s Michael Egel says the first show, Hansel and Gretel, is geared towards a younger audience. The second production is The Barber of Seville. Egel says almost everyone should be familiar with it. He says Warner Brothers used music from the show in a Bug’s Bunny cartoon in the 1950’s. Hansel and Gretel runs February 18 and 19. The Barber of Seville is February 26 and 27. Show times are at 7:00 PM. Adult tickets are 15-dollars.
