The Demon boys and Williamsburg met last night in Williamsburg, and the Raiders used three pointers to come back from a double digit deficit. The Demons started the third quarter on a run holding Williamsburg scoreless for about half the quarter, but the Raiders would get hot from beyond the arc. The Demons ended up having to play catch up in the fourth and had it down to a two point Williamsburg lead when Caleb Rich was called for a foul. Demon Head Coach Bryce Smeins in protesting the call received a technical. The official had told him to sit down, but Smeins said after the game based on the rule he’s allowed to stand during a dead ball. Williamsburg Senior Chad Malloy went to the line and hit all four free throws and the Raiders got the ball out of bounds, and from there the Demons couldn’t really get within striking distance The Raiders won 76-69. On the night Williamsburg had 15 three pointers, eleven of those came in the second half. For the Demons Isaac Gardner had 24 points, Alex Vogel had 18 and Nic Williams had 8. For the Raiders, Tanner Bloome had 24, Kelly O’Rourke had 21, and Chad Malloy had 20. Williamsburg improved to 14-6, while the Demons fall to 14-6. Washington will close out the regular season tomorrow night hosting Grinnell.
