A new report shows a sharp drop in cigarette sales in Iowa. Numbers gathered by the Iowa Department of Revenue also shows the per capita consumption of cigarettes has declined from 112 to 54 since 2006. Iowa Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Commissioner Cathy Callaway attributes the decreases to the one-dollar cigarette tax in 2007 and the 2008 smoke free air act.
