Crawfordsville is taking out a $407,000 loan to make improvements to its drinking water system. About a third of that loan is forgivable. The money is coming from Iowa’s revolving loan fund and the federal stimulus package. Crawfordsville was forced to revamp its drinking water system after a hole was discovered in the city’s well last year. Other area communities receiving money from the loan program include North English and Muscatine.
