press play to hear from M-P/Keota Supt. Mark Schneider

Two local schools are undertaking an effort to serve healthier foods. Mark Schneider is Superintendent at the Mid-Prairie and Keota School districts. He says the two have a plan in the works to get more fruits and vegetables on the lunch menu. Schneider says they are working with local growers to provide fresh green beans and strawberries for their lunch menu next year. He also says last year the school removed soda from their vending machines and replaced them with fruit juices and vitamin water.
